How long is the migration?

The terms of the transfer are individual and are discussed in each case separately. The usual term is 24 hours. The transfer time depends on the number of sites, the amount of disk space and the type of CMS.

I don't know where to get the site archive and database dump. Do you need them?

Yes. For a quick and successful moving from one hosting to another we need links to: — archive with site/s files in one of the following formats: zip, tar.gz, tar.bz2, tgz, tar; — dump (backup copy) of the database in one of the following formats: sql, sql.gz or sql.zip. To get archives (backup copies), contact the technical support of you current hosting provider. Or provide SSH access to the original hosting service and we will transfer the files and database to the new service ourselves.

How long will my site be unavailable?

We are well aware that the project must be always available, and that is why we have developed a project migration methodology with almost no downtime. The only bottleneck is the database synchronization, but it usually takes 2-5 minutes, and we do the final migration at night (or any other time specified by you), when the site has the least number of visitors.

Is it possible to grant you access to my site and you will do everything without my assistance?

Yes, you can give us SSH access to your original hosting service and we will migrate your files and database to the new hosting service. SSH access is the most suitable for migration. It allows us to evaluate and carry out the migration as quick as possible. FTP access is much slower, the store will be closed for a longer time, especially if large sites have to be synchronized. If you use WHM/cPanel/Plesk/etc., please let us know and we will find the best solution.

What sites can be migrated to Scalesta hosting?

We migrate only sites written in PHP with MySQL support - CS-Cart, PrestaShop, WordPress/WooCommerce, Magento and other CMS on request. We do not migrate websites to Windows hosting.

I have several projects. Can you move all of them?

We do not limit the number of projects on the server. Anyhow, the size of the disk space imposes restrictions, but we can increase it at your request. In addition, you should understand that if some of your projects have a security issue, this may affect the security of other projects (usually this applies to older versions of software without security patches). If you have any questions or concerns regarding the safety of your projects, please feel free to contact us. In this case, we recommend that you have separate servers.

Are there any restrictions during the transfer of a project?

During the transfer of the site to another hosting it cannot be edited. Otherwise, it will be transferred with errors, and the changes made at the time of transfer will be absent on both the source and target hosting.
